Description
Most fish-based cat foods mean tuna or salmon. Hoki is neither — and that's precisely the point.
Hauled from the deep, frigid waters off New Zealand's South Island, Hoki is a wild-caught white fish that sits at the leaner, cleaner end of the fish protein spectrum. It's mild where salmon is rich, flaky where tuna is dense, and carries an ocean freshness that cats — particularly those who find stronger fish flavours too overpowering — seem to find genuinely irresistible. For indoor cats, weight-conscious feeders, or older cats whose digestive systems prefer something lighter, the fact that Hoki's fat content comes in at just 3% makes it the most naturally lean option in Zealandia's entire range.
The rest of the can is what you'd expect from Zealandia — 93% meat and organs, five whole-animal lamb organ cuts (liver, lung, green tripe, heart, kidney, and plasma), NZ Green Mussel for joint support, and Salmon Oil to round out the Omega-3 profile. Green tripe adds live digestive enzymes and natural probiotics. Everything slow-cooked in broth, nothing artificial added. Grain-free, carrageenan-free, made in Gisborne.
What separates Hoki from the rest of the range isn't marketing — it's what's genuinely different about the fish itself. Sustainably wild-caught, MSC-certified, low in fat, high in lean protein, and rarely seen in cat food outside of New Zealand. If your cat has been eating the same protein for months, this is the most effortless rotation option on the shelf.
Key Features
Wild-Caught NZ Hoki — Lean, Deep-Sea White Fish MSC-certified and sustainably fished from the deep Southern Ocean. Leaner than salmon, milder than tuna, and largely absent from mainstream cat food — making it a genuinely useful novel option for cats with fish tolerances but protein rotation needs.
Lowest Fat in the Range at 3.0% For cats who need to watch their waistline without sacrificing protein quality, Hoki's naturally low fat content does that work without any artificial modification. Same organ-rich base, same quality — just noticeably lighter.
93% Meat & Organs — No Filler Required Lamb liver, lung, green tripe, heart, kidney, and plasma each earn their place. Green tripe in particular brings something synthetic supplements don't: live digestive enzymes and naturally occurring probiotics from the stomach lining, which makes a real difference for cats with inconsistent digestion.
NZ Green Mussel + Salmon Oil Bioavailable glucosamine and chondroitin from whole green mussel — not isolated powder — alongside Omega-3 from salmon oil for skin, coat, and inflammation management.
Nothing Hiding in the Can Grain-free, carrageenan-free, BPA-free. No artificial preservatives, no added flavourings, no growth hormones or antibiotics anywhere in the supply chain. Made in Zealandia's own canning facility in Gisborne, New Zealand.

Feeding Guide
Serve straight from the can at room temperature — the broth aroma opens up considerably once it's not fridge-cold, which matters for cats who need olfactory encouragement. Works as a standalone diet or alongside dry food.

Transitioning: Seven days, gradual. Start at roughly a quarter Zealandia mixed with their current food, increase every couple of days. Cats coming from dry-only diets may take a little longer to accept wet food — patience and room temperature serving helps.
Storage: Unopened, cool and dry. Once open, refrigerate and use within 24 hours.
